It has been 10 days since Frank Haith left for Tulsa after three seasons at Missouri. The Tigers are still without a head coach, though, according to several reports a decision could come soon.

Former UCLA head coach Ben Howland and Central Missouri head coach Kim Anderson, who led the Mules to the 2014 Division II National Title, are believed to have emerged as two candidates for the vacancy, according to reports from both Steve Walentik of the Columbia Tribune and Gary Parrish of CBS Sports.

The pool of candidates dwindled on Sunday afternoon, as Jeff Borzello, also of CBS Sports, reported that Louisiana Tech’s Michael White has removed his name from consideration. White was also being viewed as a potential replacement for Cuonzo Martin at Tennessee.

According to Walentik and Parrish, the University of Missouri Board of Curators is scheduled to meet on Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. The feeling is the committee is meeting to approve a new head coach.

Howland has been to three Final Fours (all with UCLA) and 10 NCAA tournaments in all as the head coach of the Bruins, Pittsburgh and Northern Arizona. Anderson, the former Mizzou player and assistant coach (two different stints), has amassed 274 wins in 12 seasons at Central Missouri.

Whether it’s Howland, Anderson or another candidate who quickly emerges, they will take over a program that missed the 2014 NCAA Tournament, and lost its two top scorers -- Jabari Brown and Jordan Clarkson -- this spring to early entrees for the 2014 NBA Draft. Earnest Ross, the Tigers’ third-leading scorer, has exhausted his eligibility.

Despite the departures of Brown, Clarkson and Ross, Mizzou welcomes in power forward Jakeenan Gant and shooting guard Namon Wright, both four-star recruits, according to Rivals. Transfers Deuce Bello (Baylor) and Cam Biedscheid (Notre Dame) will be eligible. Beidscheid can resume his college career after the fall semester.

With the dismal of center Zach Price from the team, Missouri will have three scholarships available for the 2014-2015 season.
