Kentucky, the lowest seed entering the Final Four, can advance to its second National Title game in three years with a win over Wisconsin in the Final Four on Saturday night.
For the second straight game, the Wildcats will be without 7-foot sophomore Willie Cauley-Stein. Regardless of the outcome, Cauley-Stein’s season is over. He told CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson that he would not play Monday night if Kentucky were to advance.
Cauley-Stein injured his left ankle in a win against Louisville, and his status has been doubtful since. He averaged 6.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.9 points per game for Kentucky this season.
The question now is whether or not Cauley-Stein’s career in Lexington is over? He decided to return to Kentucky for a sophomore season last spring, but is currently projected as a lottery pick. He’s the 12th overall pick, according to DraftExpress.com.
