Wyoming guard Josh Adams has been suspended for a game by the Mountain West Conference for “striking” an opponent in the Cowboy’s 74-57 win over Utah State on Saturday.
He will not play in Wednesday’s game at New Mexico.
Adams was assessed a flagrant 2 foul for a run in with Spencer Butterfield. The two got tangled up and Adams appeared to punch Butterfield in the stomach before getting pushed onto a table. You can see the altercation here:
Adams is averaging 12.1 points and 3.0 assists on the season. He had 19 points and eight assists before being ejected.
Wyoming is 14-7 overall and 5.3 in Mountain West play, having won four of their last five games.
