Ball State sophomore guard Chase Brogna, who has been out since December with a concussion, has withdrawn from school this semester due to medical reasons, according to a release from the Ball State athletic department.

Brogna, a 5-foot-11 guard from Houston, intends to return to the team next season, according to the release.

“We fully support Chase in his decision to leave school for the remainder of the semester,” Ball State head coach James Whitford said in the statement. “The doctors agree it is in his best interest, medically. We look forward to having him rejoin our team in the future.”

Brogna appeared in 15 games as a freshman -- starting one game -- and averaged 9.1 minutes per game while averaging one point per game. The sophomore appeared in two games this season before the concussion sidelined him.
