Ro Russell strikes again.
MiKyle McIntosh was ruled a non-qualifier by the NCAA today, according to reports, and will be forced to essentially redshirt this season at Illinois State. McIntosh, a native of Canada, was at 22 Feet Academy in Kentucky last season, but he also attended Christian Faith Center Academy in the past. That’s the school that was run by Russell, a hoops power broker from Canada, that cost Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Braeden Anderson and a number of other players their eligibility in college.
McIntosh is a huge loss for the Redbirds. A 6-foot-6 forward, McIntosh had a number of high-majors recruiting at one point and was expected to have an immediate impact in the Missouri Valley.
He’s also not the only player ISU has lost prior to the season. JuCo transfer Daishon Wright is still suspended and freshman Deontae Hopkins was ruled ineligible.
