On Monday, BYU head coach Dave Rose underwent surgery to remove cancerous spots at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City.
This came according to Greg Wrubell of KSL.com, who reported the surgery was required once “cancerous spots” were discovered in Rose’s last cancer screening. Rose, who was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor cancer in 2009, goes in for screenings every six months.
“The surgery went well,” said Dr. Courtney Scaife, who performed the surgery. “I expect him to make a full recovery.”
BYU has already announced that Rose is expected to make a full recovery, and should bet set for the start of practice on Oct. 7. The Cougars finished last season with a 24-12 record, ending in the NIT semifinals.
