Oregon and Georgetown have both committed to playing in the Armed Forces Classic on November 8th, according to ESPN’s Andy Katz.

The Armed Forces Classic is currently in the second year of a five-year deal in which college basketball will play a game on the opening night of the season on an American military base to honor Veterans Day. Last year, UConn went to the Ramstein Air Force base in Germany and knocked off Michigan State.

This year’s game will be played on an Army base, with the Coast Guard, the Marines and the Navy left in the rotation.

As far as the game itself, it should actually be a fun watch. Oregon has a chance to be one of the more entertaining teams out west next season. Dominic Artis and Damyeon Dotson return in the back court, while Mike Moser will help replace Carlos Emory, EJ Singler and Tony Woods up front. Also keep an eye on rising sophomore big man Ben Carter.

The Hoyas have a solid core returning as well, headlined by D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, Greg Whittington and Markel Starks. Losing Otto Porter will hurt, but Georgetown fans are going to appreciate incoming freshman Reggie Cameron.
