Two months later and Kevin Ware is healthy enough to shoot?

KevinWare

Miller, Michael (501534472)

I know it seems like forever ago, but it has only been 64 days since Kevin Ware suffered a gruesome, compound fracture against Duke during Louisville’s run to the 2013 national title.

Do the math. That’s just a shade over two months since Ware lay on his back with the bone sticking out of the lower part of his right leg.

But two months is all the time that the junior-to-be has needed to get back on the court.

Now, Ware’s not playing yet. He can’t run or cut or jump like he is capable of doing. But he can shoot, and that’s precisely what Eric Crawford of WDRB in Louisville spotted him doing:

He’s able to wander out onto the U of L practice court and shoot jump shots again.

That’s right. Jump shots. They weren’t the high-flying variety he showed in his emergence as a major part of U of L’s national championship team late in the season, but they were shots with a little bit of bounce.

Ware still has a lot of painful, intense rehab to go through to get back into playing shape, but that fact that, after only 64 days, he’s able to do some spot-shooting is a good sign.

Does anyone doubt that Ware will be on the court in a Louisville uniform next season?
