Tragic news coming out of Boston today, as Joey Glynn, a 6-foot-6 freshman forward for Bentley, has passed away after collapsing on the court during a game.
He was playing in a Watertown Men’s League game on Monday night at Saltonstall Park when he collapsed.
“There was no physical contact at all,” teammate Michael Crotty Jr. told the Boston Herald. “He just went down and the game was stopped. Everyone is still stunned, just can’t believe something like this happened.”
Glynn played AAU ball for the Middlesex Magic and was a standout at Cardinal Spellman High School. The Abington, MA, native averaged 3.3 points and 3.2 boards in his first season with Bentley, a Division II program.
