Ricky Tarrant transfers to Alabama

Ricky Tarrant

Ricky Tarrant spent two seasons at Tulane as one of the most promising young guards in Conference USA. He was the conference Freshman of the Tear in 2011-2012 and was named second team all-league this past season after averaging 15.7 points a game, 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists this year.

But Tarrant wanted to be closer to his Pleasant Grove, AL, home, so after leaving the Green Wave last month, Tarrant made the decision to transfer to Alabama.

“It was about representing the state of Alabama and coming back to play basketball in my home state,” Tarrant told AL.com. “That meant a lot to me to come back and play close to home and represent my home state.”

Tarrant will be sitting out the 2013-2014 season, but he has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
