Top 50 recruit Dwayne Morgan picks UNLV over Georgetown, Maryland

i

Dwayne Morgan, a top 50 forward in the Class of 2014 from Baltimore, announced that he has committed to UNLV on Wednesday afternoon. Morgan picked the Runnin’ Rebels over Georgetown and Maryland.

Morgan, who stands 6-foot-7, is UNLV’s first recruit in the Class of 2014, but when he finally reaches the Las Vegas campus, he’ll add to the stockpile of talent that Dave Rice has in his program. Even with Anthony Bennett heading to the NBA, Rice returns a loaded roster that will only get deeper with the addition of Roscoe Smith, Jelan Kendrick, Christian Wood and Kendall Smith. Given Morgan’s length, athleticism and skill level, he should be able to fit right in with this UNLV program.

Rice can clearly clean up on the recruiting trail.

Now the question becomes whether or not he can turn that talent into wins. His team was upset in the opening round of the NCAA tournament the past two seasons.
