Michigan State sophomore Travis Trice will miss Wednesday’s game against Minnesota as he works through concussion-like symptoms, Spartans coach Tom Izzo announced this evening and as reported by Diamond Leung of MLive.com.
Trice, a 6-0, 170-pound native of Huber Heights, Ohio, dealt with concussion-like symptoms earlier in the season that caused him to miss five games. He was hit in the head again last Thursday against Illinois, which forced him out after playing just 11 minutes.
On the year, Trice is averaging 5.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per game as the backup to team captain Keith Appling at the point guard spot. He is also one of the team’s better three-point shooters, checking in at close to 41 percent from three-point range on the year.
In other Michigan State news as reported by Leung, guard Gary Harris is scheduled to play, despite his recent bout with back spasms, but it is unclear how many minutes he will play.
