The Morning Mix

- #ReadoftheDay comes via ESPN’s Dana O’Neil, who writes a terrific profile piece on Richmond head coach Chris Mooney

- Tickets are going on sale soon for the Battle on the Midway between Syracuse and San Diego State, and if you are willing to spend anywhere from $150 - $1,2500 to watch a college basketball game on the deck of an aircraft carrier....you can certainly buy me a ticket

- Dime magazine just published an issue which featured an article detailing the ten next players who will define the game of basketball

- Mike DeCourcy hit a home run in this piece on Arizona State’s Jahil Carson, who is looking to silence the critics who think he’s not a student-athlete

- 1) I have no clue what a “Political rap video” is. 2) If there is such thing as a “Political rap video”, I’m certain that Memphis coach Josh Pastner would not allow the film to use his likeness

- Akron got a bit of good news on Tuesday in the wake of Quincy Diggs’ year-long suspension, as West Virginia-transfer Pat Forsyth was cleared to participate immediately

- Harvard head coach Tommy Amaker fielded questions at media about the suspensions of Kyle Casey and Brandyn Curry, but did not offer much detail on the matter

- Binghamton must have not done a good enough job at “cleaning house”, because just a few years removed from a devastating scandal that rocked the program, two Bearcats were arrested over the weekend for disorderly conduct

- A bunch of good stuff on Michigan State from their media day experience, including a good-read on Derrick Nix’s captaincy

- You think UConn has it bad? Texas Southern was deemed to have had “A lack of institutional control” and will not be able to compete in the next two postseasons

- The WAC is on its last legs. Unless it can successfully merge with another conference, such as the Great West, it will likely dissipate over the course of the next few seasons

- Billy Donovan’s son, Billy Jr. is transferring from Catholic (D-III) to Florida and will be a walk-on for the Gators after he sits out due to the transfers rule, which does still apply for D-III to D-I transfers

- With all eyes on the backcourt of Pe’Shon Howard and Shaq Cleare, the Maryland frontcourt is primed to excel in offensive production

- Apparently Georgetown is turning back the clock for their Midnight Madness, because they hired Doug E. Fresh (Yes, that Doug E. Fresh) to perform at their on-campus festivities

- Anybody want to read a season preview on the Marist Red Foxes. It’s here if you want it (Red Foxes.....Wasn’t that a team name on “Legends of the Hidden Temple?”)

- Same thing goes for New Mexico State...The season preview, not the Nickelodeon reference. I’m positive there were no Aggies on “Legends of the Hidden Temple”
