That’s what Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv is currently reporting:
Purvis had his eligibility under review for a number of reasons, but the biggest issue was whether or not his transcript from Upper Room Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., was enough to get him cleared. He’s a member of the first graduating class from the school, and as Sam Cassell Jr. found out, the NCAA is cracking down on so-called “diploma mills”.

More good news for NC State as Rodney Purvis will be fully cleared today by NCAA, source tells @snytv

Purvis was initially ruled ineligible but won an appeal, which rarely happens.

If this turns out to be true, that’s big news for the Wolfpack. Purvis is a consensus top 25 recruit, a 6-foot-3 athletic scoring guard that should fit in well with Tyler Lewis and Lorenzo Brown in the back court.
Many are projecting NC State to be a top five or top ten team heading into the season. That’s what happens when you return the majority of your roster and plug in three top 40 recruits coming off of a run to the Sweet 16. Ensuring the eligibility of Purvis isn’t a difference maker for the Wolfpack -- that was getting CJ Leslie to return for his junior year -- but it’s another piece of the puzzle.Clears to join my team !!!!!!!!!!!
