Bradley loses an assistant to fashion?

TLKWNYVVGJJZYLK.20100924161537

Bradley assistant coach Willie Scott will be resigning from his position effective October 1st.

Obviously, it is a decision that will obviously put the Braves in a tough position considering his decision is being made just two weeks before practices start.

But it’s not a choice that Scott is making with ill-will in his heart.

“I’m not leaving Bradley because I’m unhappy or have been treated unfairly,” Scott told the Peoria Journal. “It’s been a great experience. Anybody who knows me knows I’ve been wanting to get back to being a head coach. And I’ll also be able to resume my (clothing) business. This is really the only level where I can get that done.”

You can’t really blame the former Bradley star for that.

He wants to be a head coach, and he wants to do it while having time to be defined as something other than basketball. And, frankly, he may be a better designer than he is a basketball coach. A number of professional athletes, front office types, and political figures have hired him, but that’s no where near his most impressive clients. According to this story from 2006, both Prince (Prince!?) and Michael Jackson (MICHAEL JACKSON?!?) hired him as a stylist.

If that’s true, then, well, good decision, Willie.
