Connecticut landed its second commitment in the 2013 class on Sunday as Brooklyn, NY point guard Terrence Samuel committed to the school as first reported by Coast 2 Coast Hoops.
Samuel, who took an official visit to Connecticut this weekend, joins Long Island Lutheran forward Kentan Facey in the Huskies’ 2013 recruiting class.
Samuel plays at South Shore High School in Brooklyn, where he averaged 11.7 points and 4.8 assists per game in PSAL regular season action (13 games) as a junior.

Braziller also noted that Rhode Island was in the running for Samuel’s services, but the chance to suit up for a program he’s been a fan of for years was something Samuel couldn’t pass up.
Samuel, who will join current Husky and fellow Brooklynite Omar Calhoun in the back court, also cited UConn’s business school as a reason for his decision.
In addition to URI, Dayton, Tennessee, Pittsburgh and Temple were also under consideration.
