So this is what Paul McCartney was singing about

boise_state_logo

Once the Big West approves Boise State’s return to the conference starting in 2014, it’ll join four other schools who are leaving their current structure to rejoin where they once played. What? You thought conference realignment was a new trend?

The Broncos – who will play their football in the Big East, but everything else in the Big West – join Charlotte (from the A-10 back to C-USA), Georgia State (from CAA back to Sun Belt), Pacific (from Big West to WCC) and San Diego State (from MWC to Big West, except for football, which is playing in the Big East) as the most recent schools who will be back where they began.

Yes, the most recent. Schools jump to new conferences all the time, but there’s actually a pretty long list of some who’ve left, then came back to where they began. College Hoopedia has those details and links.

See? Jojo and Loretta are not alone in this.
