Report: Northfield Mount Hermon forward Anthony Dallier verbally commits to Yale

Northfield Mount Hermon has been quite the supplier of basketball players for Ivy League schools.

They’re now up to three players on the 2012-13 team that will move on to play in the Ancient Eight, as wing Anthony Dallier verbally committed to Yale on Thursday afternoon.

Dallier helped lead NMH to a 29-6 record last season, averaging 11.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the NEPSAC AAA champions.

With his commitment to Yale, Dallier joins center Peter Miller (Princeton) and forward Zena Edsomwan (Harvard) as Ivy League commits who will attend Northfield Mount Hermon this coming academic year.

Currently 12 players who attended Northfield Mount Hermon now play their college basketball in the Ivy League, a number that’s higher than any other school.

James Jones’ Bulldogs finished the 2011-12 season with a 19-10 mark, finishing in fourth place in the Ivy League with a 9-5 league mark.

But they’ll need to account for the loss of big man Greg Magnano, a first team All-Ivy selection who averaged 18.2 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, and guard/forward Reggie Willhite (12.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg; Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year).

Yale had eight freshmen and sophomores on last season’s team, so those players will be upperclassmen when Dallier sets foot on the New Haven campus.

Dallier is Yale’s first 2013 commitment, and with guards Austin Morgan (11.8 ppg) and Michael Grace graduating after this season it’s highly unlikely that the Bulldogs done on the recruiting trail.
