Looks like there could be a change to the recruiting timeline for Simeon Career Academy (Chicago) wing Jabari Parker, according to his father Sonny.

Parker, who was originally expected to sign during the November signing period, may wait until the spring to commit to a school according to his father.

Jabari played with the USA U-17 team at the world championships in Lithuania, helping the Americans in their romp to the gold medal.

But he did so while not at full strength physically, and he’ll return to the court in 6-8 weeks as he’s recovering from a fracture in his right foot.

“We aren’t in a hurry,” said Parker’s father Sonny Parker on Thursday. “He can pretty much go anywhere he wants to go and can take his time. We’re in a good position to take his time and get it right the first time.

“We’d like to get it over with, but there’s no rush. Like I told him, if you aren’t ready, do it in the spring. If they want you bad enough, they’ll wait. He’s the No. 1 player.”

The ten schools on Parker’s list are (in alphabetical order) BYU, DePaul, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and Stanford.

So how big of a deal is this? Not much, even if some may attempt to read into this possible decision.

Sonny Parker also stated that he expects Jabari to cut his list before taking any visits but there is no set timetable in that regard either.
