Seth Greenberg reportedly lands ESPN studio job

Seth Greenberg’s microphone for his annual grousing about teams wrongfully omitted from the NCAA tournament field just got a lot bigger.

The former Virginia Tech coach – famous for his grousing when the Hokies missed the Big Dance during eight of his nine seasons in Blacksburg – will reportedly be hired for an ESPN studio gig, per Jeff Goodman.

Not that Selection Sunday sniping would be Greenberg’s only attribute. He’s a damn fine Xs and Os coach, which one hopes translates into more than just superficial analysis. Plus, he’s opinionated and unafraid to speak his mind.

The only detriment to those qualities is if he’s still got the coaching itch. If he doesn’t want to alienate any possible job openings, he might tone down the act a bit.

But let’s hope he lets it rip. We’d all be winners.
