Conner Frankamp suffers hairline fracture in his foot

It’s a good thing that Conner Frankamp has already proven himself worthy of that scholarship to Kansas, because he’ll likely be spending the rest of the summer on the sidelines.

The 6-foot-1 Wichita native suffered a hairline fracture in his foot over the weekend and could miss as much as eight weeks:

“I went up for a layup, and a kid (from Oklahoma team in third-place game) took me out,” Frankamp told Nick Krug. “I came down, and my foot went backwards. It’s a good time for me to rest, but I sure will miss playing.”

That’s a tough break, literally, but Frankamp is lucky. He’s already got his scholarship locked up. For guys like Ishmael Wainright, missing out on the summer before their senior season could cost them their dream school.
