Ole Miss actually has a chance to be pretty good next season.

They got rid of Jelan Kendrick and Dundrecous Nelson.* They return three double-digit scorers. They bring in a four-star recruit (Anthony Cortesia), Tennessee’s Mr. Basketball (Martavious Newby) and the JuCo Player of the Year (Marshall Henderson, who averaged 11.5 ppg as a freshman at Utah) in a six-man class.

The SEC will be strong at the top, but Ole Miss has the potential to be a factor in the league race. They know that, which is why they are going through workouts like this during the summer (via Red Cup Rebellion):

Players are allowed to work out with their coaches during the summer as long as they are enrolled in summer school, and this is a really cool way to showcase to their fans the work they are putting in. Count me in as a fan.

Also, credit needs to be given to whatever team manager was able to edit this video together. Color me impressed.

(*I’m not sure I’ve ever heard two more ridiculous stories of why players got kicked off of their team. Kendrick walked into the stands during warmups of the regular season finale against Alabama while Nelson was busted smoking pot when he opened the door of his apartment for a pizza delivery guy.)
