Bucknell and Penn State will begin a three-year series this fall, with two of the game taking place in State College and one at Bucknell according to the Bucknell athletic department.

Penn State owns a 75-24 lead in the all-time series, which includes a 57-6 mark in games played in State College. This season’s meeting, which Penn State will host, will be played on November 23.

“Everyone in our program is tremendously excited to get Penn State back on the schedule,” said Bucknell head coach Dave Paulsen in a statement released by the school. “I am very appreciative of Coach Chambers and his willingness to not only resume this storied series, but also to travel to Lewisburg in 2013-14.

“I think it will be beneficial for both teams from a scheduling standpoint, and it is certainly a win-win for Central Pennsylvania basketball fans, many of whom root for both teams. The Bryce Jordan Center is a terrific place to play, and we are incredibly excited to host Penn State in Sojka Pavilion in what should be a fun night for our great fans.”

While the focus for some may be the fact that Bucknell will get to play Penn State at home for the first time in 38 years in 2013-14, the Bison are more than capable of picking up their 7th win all-time at Penn State.

Mike Muscala, who along with Lehigh’s C.J. McCollum will be a favorite for Patriot League Player of the Year, leads the way for a team that returns its top five scorers and went 25-10 last season.

Penn State returns every major contributor outside of Cameron Woodyard, and point guard Tim Frazier will once again lead the way with incoming freshmen Brandon Taylor and Geno Thorpe entering the fold.

Head coach Pat Chambers will have an improved team in his second season at Penn State, but there should be no doubting Bucknell’s chances of leaving the Bryce Jordan Center with a win.
