Findlay Prep guard Nigel Williams-Goss commits to Washington

Coming off a national championship season at Findlay Prep (Nev.), 2013 guard Nigel Williams-Goss announced Wednesday that he would play his college basketball at the University of Washington.

The 6-3, 180-pound guard, originally from Portland, Ore., was also considering Harvard, Oklahoma, UCLA, and UNLV, before choosing the Huskies.

His Findlay Prep Pilots finished the season with a 32-1 record, on their way to a third NHSI title in four seasons.

Among the other players on that team were UNLV-bound forward Anthony Bennett, future Ohio State guard Amedeo Della Valle, Winston Shepard, headed to San Diego State, Arizona-bound Brandon Ashley, Oregon-bound Dominic Artis, and UNLV commit Christian Wood.

Williams-Goss would play point guard at Washington and, with his 6-3 frame, has good size for the position. According to MaxPreps.com, he averaged 14.5 points per game this past season for Findlay.

In January, he scored 20 points in a double-digit win over intra-city rival Bishop Gorman (Nev.), a team led by UCLA-bound guard Shabazz Muhammad.

Williams-Goss becomes the first player committed to Washington’s Class of 2013.
