According to Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com, former Texas A&M guard Naji Hibbert will transfer to Gardner-Webb, where he will have one season of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2012-13 season.

Hibbert played in 26 of Texas A&M’s 32 games in 2011-12, averaging 19.3 minutes and 3.8 points per game. A 6-5 guard out of Baltimore, Hibbert certainly has the talent to have an impact at Gardner-Webb.

Whether it was the fact that he came off the bench for much of his time in College Station or some other reason, Hibbert wasn’t able to have the impact that many expected him to have when he committed to A&M.

Hibbert pushes head coach Chris Holtmann’s 2012 recruiting class to three, with JUCO forward Onzie Branch and freshman forward Jerome Hill already signed.

Gardner-Webb went 12-20 last season, finishing tenth in the Big South with a 6-12 conference record.
