The national champion Kentucky Wildcats received one of the perks of being a champion on Friday afternoon: a visit to the White House to meet the President of the United States.
President Barack Obama, who picked North Carolina to beat the Wildcats on his official bracket, praised Kentucky for their unselfishness in winning the school’s eighth national title.
“Sometimes talent triumphs experience,” said President Obama. “And sometimes a bunch of young players, even if their used to being big fishes in their ponds, even if they never played together before, if they can buy into a system and they understand the concept of team and they do something special right away.
“And that’s exactly what they did at Kentucky.”This video is no longer available. Click here to watch more NBC Sports videos!
