Report: Connecticut center Michael Bradley to transfer to Western Kentucky

Michael Bradley, a player who was part of the mass exodus from Connecticut this off-season, is headed to Western Kentucky, reports Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com.

Bradley is a 6-10, 225-pound center who didn’t register stats in his two seasons with the Huskies. He redshirted his first season with the team and was hampered by an ankle injury this past year, and was unable to see the floor upon his return.

His name came into the news last August, when highly touted prospect Andre Drummond was looking to come to Connecticut, but the Huskies had no scholarships available. Bradley, who qualified for other financial aid, gave up his athletic scholarship to Drummond.

Drummond went on to average 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds in his freshman season and has declared for the NBA draft.

Connecticut is barred from the 2012-13 postseason because of a low Academic Progress Rate, which in part spurred the departures of Alex Oriakhi, Roscoe Smith, Jeremy Lamb, and Bradley.

The Huskies are coming off a 20-14 season, losing in the Round of 64 of the NCAA tournament to Iowa State.
