Villanova snagged a point guard. Some things never change.

Rice’s Dylan Ennis tweeted on Tuesday that he’ll transfer to Villanova, giving coach Jay Wright approximately the 1,371st point guard during his tenure*. Ennis will sit out a season per NCAA transfer rules, but he’s excited about the chance to have an immediate impact after that.

“There’s opportunity there in regards to Jay Wright and the guards,” his father, Tony McIntyre, told SNY.tv. “His ability to walk in and play a major role right off the bat.

The 6-2 freshman averaged 8.5 points, 4.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds a game for the Owls, logging 27 minutes a game. Ennis’ size and defensively ability will be a bonus for the Wildcats. As for any worries that they’ll have too many point guards to find enough playing time for everyone, since when has that been a problem at ‘Nova?

The only question that remains is if Wake Forest transfer Tony Chennault will find another school. Villanova had been rumored to be his landing spot, but that may now change.

*rough estimate
