The last time a Kentucky player threw out a first pitch, it didn’t go so well. If you’ll remember, John Wall threw the ball into the ground prior to a Washington Nationals game in D.C.

Luckily, the program redeemed itself when Anthony Davis, the 6-11 National Player of the Year award winner and member of the 2012 Kentucky national champions, threw out the first pitch at Sunday’s Kentucky-LSU game in Lexington.

Check out the video from Kentucky Athletics here.

It was as good a pitch as you can expect, perhaps a bit high but right over the plate. With his size, scouts say he’s drawing comparisons to Randy Johnson, but still has room to improve.

In case you were wondering, Kentucky (35-6, 13-6 SEC) defeated No. 1 LSU, 8-7.

Davis and five other Kentucky Wildcats are headed to the NBA draft after their national championship season.
