San Francisco transfer Perris Blackwell had found a landing spot.

The 6-foot-9, 240 lb Blackwell was one of six Dons to leave the USF program back in March, but he was undoubtedly the hottest commodity. Blackwell averaged 12.7 points and 6.1 boards as a starter this past season, helping to lead the Dons to the CBI.

“No. 1, he brings a wealth of experience in that he has played three years of college basketball,” Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar said. “He was an honorable mention all-conference player in the WCC. ... He is someone that you throw the ball to in the middle he can use both hands and is crafty around the basket. He has a high, high basketball IQ and really understands how to play.”

Blackwell will have to sit out the 2012-2013 per transfer rules, but he will be eligible to play in 2013-2014. He’s a valuable addition as Washington loses Darnell Gant this season to graduation and will lose Aziz N’Diaye after next season.
