Pittsburgh redshirt freshman Isaiah Epps won’t be around for the school’s move to the ACC.
Epps will transfer for family-related reasons, coach Jamie Dixon announced Wednesday. He’ll try to find a school closer to his Plainfield, N.J. home.
“We have been in constant communication with Isaiah regarding his family’s well-being,” Dixon in a release. “We believe that it is best for Isaiah to be close to home and we will assist him in finding the best possible situation to reach his goals-both academically and athletically. He’s a great kid, hard worker and good player. We thank Isaiah for his contribution to our program over the last two years and wish him much success in the future.”
Epps, a 6-2 guard, played in 19 games and made two starts. Once starter Tray Woodall returned, his minutes dwindled. He played in just two of Pitt’s final nine games.
