According to Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com, TCU head coach Jim Christian will leave the school to take over as head coach at Ohio University.
Christian replaces John Groce, who is the new head coach at Illinois after leading the Bobcats to a pair of NCAA tournament appearances in his four seasons in Athens.
Christian went 56-73 in four seasons in Fort Worth, and his departure means that the Horned Frogs will enter the Big 12 with a new head coach.
This will be Christian’s second stint in the Mid-American Conference, where he was successful for six seasons at Kent State from 2002-08.
Kent State won 20 or more games in each of Christian’s seasons there, and from a MAC standpoint the piece will be in place for him to pick up where he left off in his new job.
All key contributors from a team that fell in the Sweet 16 to North Carolina are expected back for Ohio, including guards D.J. Cooper, Nick Kellogg and Walter Offutt, and forwards Ivo Baltic and Reggie Keeley.
