Florida’s frontline will retain its muscle. Forward Patric Young is expected to return for his junior season, CBSSports.com reports.

The 6-9, 250-pound Young could be a first-round pick in the 2012 NBA draft if he declares. But coming back for another season is probably the right call.

He boosted his production significantly from his freshman season. Scoring jumped from 3.4 ppg to 10.2 ppg; rebounds from 3.8 rpg to 6.4 rpg and shooting from 55.6 percent to 61.8 percent. He also started 32 of 37 games.

But he remains an inconsistent player, dependent on putbacks and dunks for scores. Despite his size, he didn’t even lead the Gators in rebounds.

Still, he’s a promising talent. He’ll showcase jaw-dropping athleticism that undoubtedly intrigues the NBA.
