BJ Young declaring for the NBA Draft

Arkansas freshman BJ Young has decided to declare for the NBA Draft, but he is not signing with an agent yet.

Young is a talented, 6-foot-3 scoring guard. He thrived in Mike Anderson’s system, averaging 15.3 ppg despite playing as the sixth-man. His ability helped keep Arkansas relevant through mid-February despite losing leading scorer Marshon Powell early in the season to a knee injury.

“I love being a Razorback and I see this as an opportunity to receive valuable feedback from the NBA advisory committee on my draft potential,” Young said in a statement.  “I want to make sure that I have all the information possible before I choose what is best for me and my family.  Once I am able to look over all the facts, I will have a discussion with my family and coaches and decide what is best.”

Young is a native of Missouri, but Haith didn’t want him when he was still the head coach of the Tigers. Instead, Young went to Arkansas, where he ended up playing for Anderson and becoming a star.
