Michigan AD doesn’t approve of Michigan State AD’s tweet

The process of deciding whether or not to leave school early and enter the NBA Draft is a difficult one for some players, especially with the new NCAA rules essentially eliminating the possibility of truly “testing the waters”.

That’s what Michigan freshman point guard Trey Burke has had to deal with, and he received support from an unlikely source in Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis.

Only one problem: Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon didn’t approve of Hollis tweeting one of his school’s student-athletes.

Burke tweeted the following on Wednesday: “EVERYONE got something to say smh I thought this was my life!”

Hollis’s response: "@Trey_Burke3 My advice, believe in YOUR heart & mind, everything else is interference. People u seek out is better than those that seek u.”

That seems relatively harmless, right? It isn’t as if Hollis offered to help Burke pack up and leave Ann Arbor, but that was of little concern to Brandon.

Brandon tweeted that while Hollis did have good intentions it was inappropriate of him to send a tweet to a Michigan student-athlete.

If anything this “incident” is nothing more than water under the bridge, but if the hoops portion of this rivalry can reach the level of football when it comes to memorable quotes that may be a good thing for fans of both schools.
