Twenty-four of the nation’s best high school players took center stage at the United Center in the McDonald’s All-America Game, and as expected Bishop Gorman wing Shabazz Muhammad was the brightest star.

Muhammad scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds, helping lead the West to the 106-102 win. For his efforts Muhammad was named MVP, making him the first winner of the award from the state of Nevada.

Kentucky signee Archie Goodwin added 14 for the West and future college teammate Alex Poythress scored 19 points to lead the East.

Duke signee Rasheed Sulaimon knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to 18 points for the West, showing why many believe him to be one of thebest shooters in the class.

Also playing well for the East was UCLA signee Kyle Anderson, as he finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Five players in the game remain undecided in regards to where they’ll attend college, with Muhammad being chief among them. The other four are Anthony Bennett, Amile Jefferson, Tony Parker and Devonta Pollard.

Where might the uncommitted players sign?

That’s the biggest issue remaining to be decided, and there’s also the matter of Nerlens Noel also being uncommitted.

Muhammad will announce his choice on April 11th, and things could go even later into the month before Bennett makes a decision as he’s yet to take an official visit.

Keep an eye on the NCAA’s NBA Draft withdrawal deadline of April 10th, as the decisions then will likely have an impact were the next wave of potential stars decide to play their college basketball.
