Kansas fan Jason Sudeikis denied ticket to 1988 title game – by his dad

Jason Sudeikis isn’t a Kansas native (he was born in Virginia), but he grew up in a Kansas City suburb and before he’d graduated from high school, he’d seen the Jayhawks play in four Final Fours and win a national title.

No wonder he’s a Kansas fan.

He’ll flaunt it, too. Sudeikis posed with buddy Jon Hamm – a Missouri grad – after the last Border War, a dramatic Kansas victory. He took Olivia Wilde to a game in Lawrence this season and used to incorporate it into SNL sketches.

Being a fan can be tough with his work, though. The night Kansas won the 2008 national title, Sudeikis couldn’t watch the game and spent the evening getting random score updates. Still, that’s preferable to how he had to spend the 1988 title game.

Made for a funny bit on The Late Show, though.
