Georgetown’s Hollis Thompson to enter NBA draft

Georgetown’s Hollis Thompson will pass on his senior season and enter the NBA draft, the school announced Tuesday.

The junior wing intends to sign an agent, but he wouldn’t be able to return to Georgetown anyway. Thompson placed his name into the 2011 draft. College players are only allowed to withdraw from the draft once.

“”We fully anticipated he would enter the 2012 draft after this season. He is an extremely hard worker and we wish him the best as he takes his next step,” coach John Thompson III said in a release.

Thompson averaged 12.8 points and 5.5 rebounds this season and made 43 percent of his shots beyond the arc.

The site Draftexpress.com doesn’t list Thompson as likely to be drafted.
