UAB found its replacement for Mike Davis. The school will hire North Carolina assistant Jerod Haase, according to multiple reports. The AP confirmed the hire later Monday night.
A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
Haase, who will turn 38 on Sunday, has spent his entire career on Roy Williams’ staff. First it was five seasons at Kansas, then the last nine at North Carolina.
He was a star for Williams during his playing career at Kansas after spending one season at Cal. Haase was part of perhaps Williams’ best team at Kansas that went 34-2 in 1996-97.
Haase will be the fifth head coach in UAB history.
