Memphis sophomore Will Barton went from promising freshman to sophomore star.
Now he’ll head to the NBA.
According to multiple reports, the wing will make a formal announcement Thursday afternoon. He’s expected to sign with an agent, ending any possibility of returning to school.
The 6-5 Barton averaged 18 points and eight rebounds this season – both tops on the Tigers – which were big jumps from his freshman season (12.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg), thanks to vastly improved shooting and fewer turnovers.
He’s expected to be a late first-round or early second-round selection in June’s draft.
