Last week was a rarity – the four top teams all lost. It’s just the third time that’s happened since 2003.
It also helped keep Kentucky at No. 1 in the final AP poll.
The Wildcats were followed by Syracuse, Missouri, North Carolina and Michigan State. The Orange and UNC stayed where they were from last week, while Kansas dropped to six.
But that’s not what’s interesting. What’s interesting is that the Wildcats lost two No 1 votes. When the three behind them lose, who takes the other No. 1 votes?
In two cases, it was ‘Cuse (which had two last week) and UNC. Two other writers tabbed Missouri as the best.
Tigers huh? Guess they were impressed how they won. Otherwise, if it’s best team of the week mixed with the season profile, why wouldn’t Michigan State get some votes?
