Michigan State didn’t have Branden Dawson for the Big Ten tournament, but that hasn’t kept Dawson from enjoying the Spartans’ tourney title.
The freshman wing – recovering from a torn ACL suffered during the regular-season finale against Ohio State – met the team at the Breslin Center in East Lansing (Mich.) Sunday night to cut down the last bit of net from Sunday’s big win vs. the Buckeyes.
Call it the next best thing to being there.
Dawson donned a title hat, t-shirt and boasted a huge smile on his face.
“He thought it was a tuxedo,” coach Tom Izzo told MLive. “It was great. He was great.”
Dawson’s expected to miss about six months of action as he recovers.
