Northwestern State’s star center William Mosley lost both of his infant twin sons on Saturday night. Jayden and Kayden Mosley had been hospitalized since they were born on March 20th with respiratory issues.

The children passed away while he was finishing up the regular season against Stephen F. Austin. His girlfriend and the mother of Jayden and Kayden received a call from the hospital while she waited for Mosley after the game.

“We just appreciate everybody’s heartfelt concern and prayers. It’s a difficult time. We don’t understand why these things happen in our lives, but we just know God is in control and we’ll continue to lean on Him,” said McConathy. “People around the Southland Conference, people in the Northwestern State University family, and many others have been so kind, compassionate and helpful to Will, Kayla and our Demon basketball family. That support is deeply appreciated.”

Mosley is planning on attending the Southland Conference Tournament, which starts on Wednesday in Katy, TX. The team will be wearing a memorial patch on their uniform.

A tragedy like this is unimaginable. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mosley family. If you needed an underdog to root for this March, you found it.
