Game of the Night: Notre Dame @ Georgetown, 7 p.m. (ESPN)

The one bright spot in an otherwise ugly night of hoops. Notre Dame is coming off of a loss at St. John’s while Georgetown rebounded from their loss at Seton Hall by waxing Villanova on Saturday afternoon. Both Notre Dame and Georgetown are locks for the NCAA Tournament, so the value of this game comes down to the seeding and momentum. You don’t want to head into the season’s stretch run on a losing streak, and you certainly don’t want to enter either the Big East Tournament or the NCAA Tournament with a lower seed than you feel you deserve.

The interesting part here is that Georgetown is currently a game behind Notre Dame in the Big East standings. A win for the Hoyas would essentially mean that they will be battling with the Irish and South Florida down the stretch for the last two double-byes in the Big East Tournament.

Who’s getting upset?: Kansas @ Oklahoma State, 9 p.m. (ESPN)

Frankly, I don’t necessarily believe that Kansas is going to get upset tonight. But I don’t really have another option here, now, do I? But who knows, maybe the Jayhawks haven’t come down from their win over Missouri yet. Maybe clinching a share of the Big 12 title is going to make this team soft. Maybe the trip to Gallagher-Iba Arena will be overlooked and the Jayhawks will come out slow and before we know it, Le-Bryan Nash will have 25 points and Keiton Page will be drilling threes and the Pokes will find themselves up 15.

Be sure to keep an eye on:

Texas Tech @ Baylor, 9 p.m. (ESPNU): I am as about as low on Baylor as anyone, and even I can’t see the Bears having an issue with Texas Tech at home.

MARCH MADNESS!!!

College basketball’s postseason officially kicks off tonight as the Big South starts their conference tournament. Radford will play VMI at 7 p.m. and High Point will be taking on Gardner-Webb at 7:30 p.m. I hope you all got your picks in for The Jerome!
