If Georgia Tech’s season was already filled with mostly meaningless games, the indefinite suspension of leading scorer and rebounder Glen Rice Jr. makes it what? Even worse? More meaningless?

What about unwatchable?

The Yellow Jackets (9-16 overall, 2-9 in ACC) have lost eight of their last nine and just twice since Dec. 22. Rice, a 6-5 junior is their best player, by far. The team struggles to score on a good day. And Rice is one of just two GT players with an offensive rating over 100.0 – which is average.

It’s the second time Rice, the son of former Michigan and NBA star Glen Rice, has been suspended this season and it’s unclear if he’ll be reinstated.

So yeah, their best player was having an average season (13.0 points and 6.7 rebounds a game). They were having a below-average season. Does that mean there’s a reason to watch Saturday’s game at Virginia Tech?

Not really. Guessing tickets for three of Georgia Tech’s three remaining home games will be easier to buy than ever.
