A three-week road trip, college basketball style

Embarking on a three-week basketball odyssey sounds like a dream for most college hoops fans. Stopping to see teams play almost every night, seeing various venues, styles of play and fan bases, sampling local flair for food, nightlife and chewing on America’s scenery does have a certain appeal.

So Rob Dauster and Troy Machir are doing just that. Starting tonight with Belmont-Lipscomb, those two will chronicle their adventures with diaries, videos, photos and, of course, stories about the games.

They’re brave dudes, too. Trekking across the country in an old Hyundai and traversing Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Utah in the middle of January isn’t for the faint of heart.

They’ll be posting some of it in Beyond the Arc, though everything can be found in their blog, Ballin’ Is A Habit. In fact, they’ve already started. Turns out Rob can’t drive. Wish them luck.

Here’s their schedule. Expect posts about the games either later that night or the following day.
