It’s fitting that Missouri and Texas A&M bid farewell to the Big 12 this season. One of them might actually win the league for once.
The conference can stage a true round-robin schedule (for once) and Kansas appears to be vulnerable for the first time in years. It might be asking a lot to have the Aggies win (if Monday’s game against Baylor is any indication), but Missouri’s a different story.
The Tigers feature an elite offense and guards who can score from anywhere. Provided they don’t lose anyone else in the frontcourt, Frank Haith’s only season in the Big 12 could be a memorable one.

Michigan State at Wisconsin, 7 p.m. (ESPN2)
It won’t be fast, but it’ll be an awfully good game between two of the Big Ten’s top teams. Tom Izzo’s Spartans haven’t lost since early November, while the Badgers somehow dropped a home game to Iowa on Saturday. The Spartans didn’t need any confidence, but it never hurts seeing an average team beat one of Bo Ryan’s squads.
Louisville at St. John’s, 7 p.m. (ESPNU)
This begins what Cardinals coach Rick Pitino called a crucial four-game stretch. If Louisville goes 2-2 or worse, he’s worried about how they’ll close the season and if they’ll be in full scramble mode come March.
Connecticut at Seton Hall, 7 p.m. (Big East Network; SNY; MASN; Altitude)
Who’s Herb Pope? Don’t ask Andre Drummond. UConn’s freshman center says he wasn’t trying to dis the Seton Hall forward – currently posting 18 and 11 a night – but it came off that way. Drummond will certainly know after Tuesday when the Huskies try to avoid their second loss of the season. If Pope goes off, Drummond will be the man watching it happen.

New coach Lon Kruger’s done a solid job rebuilding the Sooners. But he’s understandably nervous about facing the Tigers Tuesday night. Opening your Big 12 season in Columbia is hardly any coach’s ideal spot.
