I guess Oral Roberts deserved this one.
Not two days after Christian Watford and Carrick Felix tried their hands at your typical, run-of-the-mill, buzzer-beating three pointers, Damen Bell-Holter of Oral Roberts decided to show them what a real buzzer-beater looks like:
I love the announcer.
“Let’s go to overtime. Damen Bell-Holter throws it up ... HE MADE IT!!! HE MADE IT!!!”
Earlier this season, the Golden Eagles were on the wrong side of a buzzer-beater, when Sei Paye of UT-San Antonio hit a 40-foot runner as time expired:
But the wildest finish of the weekend might have involved UC Riverside. With five seconds left, UCR was down 73-69 to Montana State when Kevin Bradshaw was fouled while scoring a layup. He missed the first free throw, but a lane violation was called setting up this finish:
