Another night, another conference showdown that provides the best games of the night. And, like we’ve done the previous two days, here’s a complete preview of the Big East/SEC Invitational.
And the rest of the action? A lot of it’s not on TV. No Harvard-Vermont, no Wagner-Long Island. But there is stuff worth watching.
(All times ET; TV info from HDSportsGuide.com)
George Washington at Kansas State, 8 p.m. (FSKansas City)
Since the Colonials got drilled by Cal on Nov. 13, they’ve beaten Detroit, Austin Peay and Bowling Green as new coach Mike Lonergan figures out the landscape. This is a good time to get the ‘Cats, too. K-State (3-0) has played three pushovers, all at home. This’ll be an indication of how Frank Martin’s squad fares in upcoming games against Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Stanford at Seattle, 10 p.m. (Root Sports)
The Seahawks beat a Pac-12 every year. (OK, usually it’s Oregon State.) Still, anytime a BCS school hits the road to face a non-BCS school, there’s a chance for some Mid-Majority happiness. At the least, expect an entertaining postgame write-up.
Cleveland State at Wright State, 7 p.m. (Watch on Horizonleague.org)
The Vikings’ latest road test also kicks off its conference slate against a … 2-4 team? Yes, you should care about this. The Raiders’ young squad has a solid defense and players capable of slowing down Gary Waters’ solid team. Consider it the opening salvo of what could be a classic Horizon race.
