Those Big 12 tea leaves never easy to read

Mike Miller

Big 12 athletic directors are in Dallas Tuesday and Wednesday, trying to hammer out the league’s future stability and basic existence. You know, small stuff.

Provided interim commissioner Chuck Neinas can convince the ADs to do what’s in the conference’s best interest – no mean feat – they’ll try to finalize their membership issues and revenue distribution. Like anyone knows what either will be.

Texas A&M is off to the SEC. Missouri may do the same. A host of names have been floated as possible replacements – BYU, Air Force, Louisville, TCU and West Virginia among them – though none of them are perfect fits. Texas obviously will have a say in who gets added, if anyone. And that revenue? Let’s just say the Longhorns ain’t letting anyone have a piece of the LHN.

However, a few answers are hinted at by Pete Thamel of the New York Times. Let’s watch.

Fair enough, Pete. But in the meantime, I’ll keep checking back here for the latest news.
